Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for Automation positions on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.
We are seeking applications from individuals from all backgrounds, with complementary experience and skills, for the positions of Head of Automation and Automation No.3.
Responsibilities include the maintenance and operation of the automation equipment for the production, overseeing automation operation, and working within a team to ensure that the show’s automation requirements remain true to the original concept.
Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional theatre experience in automation, the ability to work under pressure and within a team, and good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organisational and time management qualities.
Senior roles within the department will also require leadership skills, including experience in people management and the running of a department in a similar environment.
