The Technical Production Department at the Royal Opera House are looking for a talented and creative individual to work directly with the Automation Project Manager on the mission critical project of replacing the ROH Main Stage Flying system.Working in partnership with our chosen world class engineering supplier, we are embarking installation phase of the most significant technical infrastructure project the ROH has undertaken since its major refurbishment in the late 1990`s, over 20 years ago. The theories and methodologies have been developed, tested and proven through the tender and procurement process, which will allow us to undertake this project on a phased basis, whilst maintaining the current performance schedule. Given the complexity of the world`s busiest opera and ballet repertoire, the successful applicant will not only have to demonstrate exceptional technical and project management skill, but will also need to have acute understanding of the operational imperatives of one of the world`s leading Opera Houses.
The successful applicant will:
Assist with planning and delivering the upgrade to the main stage automation system.
Deliver the project within the given timelines to health, safety and quality standards.
Provide effective leadership and management to the project technicians.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Proven Technical management experience with automation projects.
In-depth understanding of automation systems: Power, controls, networks and mechanics.
Demonstrable technical skills in rigging, automation console operation and motion control software.
Demonstrable understanding of Health and Safety, experience of risk assessment, an IOSH health and safety qualification with experience of working to CDM2015 desirable.
Strong experience of delivering positive change through critical thinking and problem solving.
Degree in electrical/communications/engineering and familiarity with TAIT/Stage Technologies systems (desirable)
