The Technical Production Department at the Royal Opera House are looking for a talented and creative individual to work directly with the Automation Project Manager on the mission critical project of replacing the ROH Main Stage Flying system.

Working in partnership with our chosen world class engineering supplier, we are embarking installation phase of the most significant technical infrastructure project the ROH has undertaken since its major refurbishment in the late 1990`s, over 20 years ago.

The theories and methodologies have been developed, tested and proven through the tender and procurement process, which will allow us to undertake this project on a phased basis, whilst maintaining the current performance schedule. Given the complexity of the world`s busiest opera and ballet repertoire, the successful applicant will not only have to demonstrate exceptional technical and project management skill, but will also need to have acute understanding of the operational imperatives of one of the world`s leading Opera Houses.

 

The successful applicants will work closely with the installation supervisors to deliver the automation upgrade of the main stage.

 

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in setting up automation systems for tours and temporary installations

  • Sound knowledge of automation systems: power, controls & networks

  • Demonstrable technical skills in automation console operation

  • Ability to follow electrical schematics and diagrams

  • Experience of panel wiring

  • Good understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems
