We are looking for a Grade 4 Stage Technician (Automation Bias) to join our Stages Department.
The Stage Department is made up of three teams of technicians based in the three theatre spaces, and are led by the stage supervisors. Stage Technicians are responsible for handling all scenic and prop elements of productions whilst in the theatres, on the stages and in the repertoire.
This role works to support theatre performances in support of theatre performances, production, rehearsals and other events in all three venues, rehearsal rooms and other NT spaces as required.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Solid stage operational experience in professional theatre; in a producing or rep theatre, or within a touring environment.
Excellent stage craft skills and the ability to work at height using access equipment and PPE such as ladders and work positioning equipment.
An excellent working knowledge and experience of automated stage systems and theatrical flying techniques.
The ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise conflicting demands.
Good communication skills, written and verbal.
An open mind to new ways of working and a sympathetic approach to people working under pressure in an artistic environment.
