National Theatre are looking for a Tech Swing (Automation) to join our NT Productions department on a 12-week fixed-term contract for the run of Ocean at the End of the Lane.
This role is a key member of the show’s first ever West End company and the National Theatre’s first show back in the West End. The role is based at the Duke of York’s Theatre.
The Tech Swing (Automation) is responsible for covering the Head of Automation when off ill/on holiday, and covering other roles (including Sound No 2, Assistant Stage Management) where necessary. Covering responsibilities will be split with the other Tech Swing, but automation covering will be particularly the responsibility of the Tech Swing (Automation). The role will also support and cover tracks during the day-to-day running of the show.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience of large-scale theatre productions in a similar role.
Strong all-round technical background with particular knowledge of Automation & Sound.
Awareness of current Health & Safety legislation including LOLER, risk assessment and working at height.
Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to work well with others.
Proactive and energetic, able to work with commitment and dedication to find solutions.
