We are looking for Senior Stage and Automation Technician (Grade 3a) to join us.
You will be participating in, and supervising technicians, in the full range of technical duties during fit-ups, rehearsals, performances, change overs and get-outs carried out by the department when required, providing duty cover and technical support as necessary and ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved. This includes managing, maintaining and operating the Automation equipment.
The successful candidate will have the following:
— Solid stage operational experience in professional theatre; with experience as a Head of Stage/Automation or equivalent in a small producing or rep theatre, a Deputy Head or equivalent in a larger theatre, or Supervisory duties within a touring environment
— Excellent stage craft skills and the ability to work at height using access equipment and PPE such as ladders and work positioning equipment
— An excellent working knowledge and experience of theatrical flying techniques
— Proven experience of team supervision with the ability to listen, give guidance, delegate and deliver informal practical training
— A practical working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation including LOLER, PUWER, risk assessment and working at height
